Description:

The University of Göttingen, Philosophical Faculty, General Linguistics
Department, seeks to fill by October 1st, 2018, the post of a junior
researcher, part time 65% (25,87 hours/week), 13 TV-L. The position will be
filled for 3 years.

Job contents:
- research in a project (funded by the German Research Foundation) on the
syntax-prosody interface in Yucatec Maya (principal investigator: Stavros
Skopeteas; collaboration with the Humboldt University Berlin and the
UNAM/Merida).
- fieldwork on Yucatec Maya in the areas of syntax, prosody and dialectal
variation;
- presentation and publication of research findings;
- participation in the activities of the General Linguistics Department
(colloquia and publications).
- The preparation of a PhD within the project is expected.

We expect: 
- completed MA-degree linguistics or equivalent (required)
- solid theoretical background in linguistics, in particular syntax and
prosody interface (desirable)
- language skills: very good oral/written command of English (required),
German/Spanish (desirable).
