Location: Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima, Japan – (about 200 km north of Tokyo)

Tenure-Track Probationary Period: 3 years (with tenure review taking place
approximately 2.5 years after commencing the position)

Mandatory Retirement Age: 65

Starting Date: April 1, 2019

Qualifications:
- Doctorate in hand (or proof of imminent completion)
- Experience in teaching English as a foreign language (Experience in EFL for
computer science, engineering, or science students will be viewed favorably)
- Our primary consideration will be the selection of a candidate with strength
in English language teaching.
- Scholarly publications and professional experience
- International experience (preferable for candidate to have lived, studied,
or worked outside their native country; experience in Japan will be viewed
favorably)

Duties: 
- Teach 8-9 undergraduate courses per year, including one Thesis Writing
course (some of those 8-9 are multiple sections of the same course, so fewer
preps), with each course meeting for fourteen 100-minute periods over a given
quarter; 
- Develop instruction; 
- Serve on committees; 
- Conduct and publish research

Salary: Highly competitive, and based on the university's established salary
scale
