Workshop and Practicum: Indigenous Nigerian Sign Language Documentation

Focus: This Language Documentation Summer School will focus on basic principles and signed language documentation tools.
Minimum Education Level: BA


Special Qualifications:
The workshop is also recommended for signed language interpreters and Special Education teachers without any linguistics experience.


Description:
The summer school is intended to provide training in technological tools for
language documentation. There will be various training courses offered and
panel discussions held regarding the use of such technology in and out of the
field. Students will be able take away a basic understanding of language
tools, audio or video recording, data processing and life in the field.

Tuition: 100 USD

Tuition Explanation: The $100 tuition allows students to register for the three major courses, and
practicum, plus workshop materials. Participants will arrange for their own
