Meeting Description:

The Department of World Languages and Literatures at the University of Nevada,
Reno is pleased to announce the XV Generative Approaches to Second Language
Acquisition conference (GASLA 15) to be held at the University of Nevada Reno
on March 22-24, 2019.

GASLA 15 provides a forum for discussion of recent, high quality research on
second language acquisition, bilingual and multilingual acquisition,
psycholinguistics and neurocognition. GASLA brings together researchers
working on the nature, use and development of interlanguage in all contexts of
bilingual and multilingual acquisition.

GASLA 15 will include, in addition to the main session, a workshop on linear
mixed models and a special panel entitled ''The Future of GenSLA.''

We are happy to announce the following plenary speakers: 

Dr. Silvina Montrul (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign)
Dr. Holger Hopp (Technische Universität Braunschweig)
Dr. Ian Cunnings (University of Reading)

The conference will take place at the University of Nevada, Reno (Joe Crowley
Union).

Call for Papers:

We invite paper and poster proposals on any topic in generative second
language acquisition.

For the main session, we invite abstract submissions for 20-minute oral
presentations (followed by 10 minutes for discussion) or posters of original,
unpublished work on any subfields of generative language acquisition,
including L2 acquisition, bilingualism (simultaneous or sequential),
multilingualism, heritage language acquisition, psycholinguistics,
neurolinguistics, etc.

Abstract instructions:

- You can upload abstracts in .doc or .pdf format. Abstracts with up to six
authors are allowed. You will receive an email confirming your abstract
submission from EasyAbs. Abstracts will be reviewed anonymously.
- Abstracts should be anonymous. Please do not include any personal
information (i.e. no names or affiliations) in the abstract file you are
uploading. We may not be able to accept your abstract if personal information
is in the file.
- Abstracts must be no longer than one letter-size or A4 page (the body of the
abstract). An additional page may be used for figures, examples, and
references.
- Abstracts should include a clear title, centered.
- Margins should be no smaller than 1/2 inch; font no smaller than 11 point.
- Submissions are limited to one individual and one joint abstract per author,
or two joint abstracts per author.
- When you submit your abstract on the EasyAbs site, you will be asked to
provide a short summary of the abstract. Upon submission, please indicate
whether your work should be considered for an oral presentation, for a poster,
or both.
