al. 2017, Hermas 2014, Hopp 2018, Rothman 2015, Slobakova 2017, Westergaard et

research areas remain topical in current linguistic debates. The third edition
of the conference Current Trends in Linguistics with the theme ''Multilingual
Development and World Englishes'' will take place from March 28 to 29, 2019 at
the University of Hamburg. The organizing committee cordially invites you to
submit papers and posters that fit the theme of the conference. The aim of the

inspiring atmosphere with room for fruitful discussions, valuable critique and
stimulating conversations among senior scholars and junior researchers.

- Robert Fuchs (Hamburg)
- Ulrike Gut (Muenster)
- Peter Siemund (Hamburg)

Call for Papers:

We seek high-quality research in all areas of Multilingual Development and
World Englishes for presentation at the Current Trends in Linguistics 2019
conference (CuTLi 2019), to take place on March 28-29, 2019 and to be hosted
by the Department of English Linguistics, University of Hamburg at the
Warburg-Haus, Hamburg, Germany. This is the third installment of the CuTLi
conferences, following the successful meetings in 2017
(https://cutli2017.wordpress.com) and 2018 (https://cutli2018.wordpress.com).
The 2019 conference (http://cutli2019.wordpress.com (available from October
2018)) features the theme ''Multilingual Development and World Englishes'' and
we are particularly interested in research submissions that address the
workshop theme.

Submission Guidelines:

We invite abstracts for either oral presentations (20 minutes, followed by 10
minutes of discussion) or poster presentations. Abstracts must be anonymous,
so please be sure to eliminate any identifying information and metadata from
the document. Length is limited to a maximum of 500 words (excluding
references). Abstracts must be submitted in both word doc. & pdf file formats.
Participants should include the following information on a separate sheet of
paper: Author name(s), affiliation(s), title of abstract, and whether the talk
is a paper or poster submission. The poster session of CuTLi 2019 is
specially designed for young researchers at B.A., M.A., and PhD levels.
Posters will remain on display throughout the conference. This is a great
opportunity for young researchers to present their (future) B.A., M.A. thesis
or PhD project ideas and receive valuable feedback. The maximum size of the
poster is A0, and we are happy to announce that CuTLi 2019 will print all
posters for poster presenters.
The deadline for abstract submission is Friday, November 30, 2018 and
notifications will be sent out by Monday, December 17, 2018. Please send your
abstracts to cutli at uni-hamburg.de.

Non-presenters:

If you want to join the conference as a guest (without presenting a talk or
poster), please register by sending an email via the contact form on the
conference website or directly to cutli at uni-hamburg.de by Monday, December 31,
2018.

Conference fees:

Admission to CuTLi 2019 for both presenters and non-presenters is free of
charge.
