Meeting Description: 

Cognition, communication, and learning are fundamental for human beings.  They
are the pillars that human development and acquisition of skills rest upon.
This symposium is intended to be a forum for interdisciplinary perspectives on
these three themes with researchers from different disciplines. We invite
abstracts for the General Session and the Poster session related, but not
limited, to the following topics:

- Perception, cognition and language
- Language acquisition 
- Language and cognitive development and evolution
- Language and consciousness
- Language and gesture
- Linguistic typology and cognition
- Multicultural communication and cognition
- Neuro- and psycholinguistic approaches to language and cognition
- Translation and cognition
- Early mathematics learning as a preparation for elementary school,
- Developmental issues regarding children’s mentalizing abilities,
- Attentional behavior in young children
- Hearing vs nonhearing children
- Multimodal communication and learning in noise
- Robotics (motivation, emotion, attention)
- Bilingualism
- Memory, mental imagery, audio description
- Cognitive impairment and language use
