Subject: Survey on Comparative Sentence

Hello, everyone. I'm a university student majoring in English linguistics in
Japan. I'm studying Comparative sentence. Especially, I'm interested in
simplification of comparative clause.

I learned about obligatory operation called Comparative Deletion and optional
3 types of method to simplify comparative clause; VP Deletion, Pseudo Gapping
and Comparative Ellipsis.
In the cause of reading reference books, some questions sprung up.

The one is to what extent the Comparative Ellipsis is done in a sentence
containing ambiguity of interpretation. The other is what type of 3 methods is
more preferred.

If you have free time, please answer my question.
