Description:

Queen Mary University of London is currently inviting applications for
lectureships in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. These strategic
appointments are permanent positions and will include protected research time
across the first three years. Within Linguistics, the university particularly
welcomes strong applications in two areas: computational linguistics and first
language acquisition. Applicants should demonstrate an active research agenda
that aligns well with our departmental strengths and fits well within the
wider Humanities and Social Sciences faculty. Outstanding applications may be
considered in other areas if they robustly meet the stated criteria of
demonstrating strong potential for developing new, highly interdisciplinary
research initiatives, ideally linked to national funding priorities. An
interdisciplinary faculty panel will assess applications.

To apply and to see Full details of the posts available see the application
link provided below.

The Linguistics Department at QMUL was top-ranked in the UK for research in
the last two national research assessments (REF2014, RAE2008). Present
research strengths include syntax, semantics, sociolinguistics, experimental
and psycholinguistic research, phonetics and phonology, and research at
interfaces between these areas. The department is home to a vibrant PhD
programme and houses new state-of-the-art phonetics and language acquisition
laboratory spaces. The department has a record of major research grants in
syntax, semantics, sociolinguistics, and experimental linguistics.

Further details of the department please see the department link provided
above.
