Description:

The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures of the University of
Salzburg, Austria, invites applications for a PostDoc Resarcher (tenure track)
position in the field of SLA (French) / French (Applied) Linguistics, to begin
March 1st, 2019.

The successful applicant’s duties will include teaching (four hours per week)
in our Romance Linguistics and language programmes at all undergraduate
levels, teaching at the graduate level, occasional supervision of graduate
students, maintaining an active research agenda, and participating in the
academic life of the department. 

Tenure requires the successful completion of a high-quality research project
with a focus on the acquisition of French as a foreign language and the
obtainment of a degree similar to the French Habilitation à diriger des
recherches within 6 years from recruitment.

Qualified candidates must have completed a doctoral dissertation in SLA or
French Linguistics by date of appointment. A record of excellence in research,
demonstrated through publications meeting high international standards, is
expected. 

A high proficiency in French is mandatory; applicants who are not fluent in
German must acquire advanced communications skills within a reasonable period
of time.   

Teaching experience at the secondary level is an advantage, as is a good
command of another Romance language.

Salary corresponds to the Collective Labour Agreement for Austrian
Universities (approx. Euro 52.000,-- gross/year) and is subject to increases
through changes in the Collective Labour Agreement and with length of
employment.
