Call for Papers: A Festschrift in Honour of Prof. J. N. Akpanglo-Nartey (1947
- 2014)

Dear Colleagues,

In honour of Prof. J. N. Akpanglo-Nartey’s academic achievements as a pioneer
Ghanaian phonetician and an astute administrator, the founder of the Applied
Linguistics Department of the University of Education, Winneba, an exemplary
teacher, and a caring mentor, the Department of Applied Linguistics, Winneba,
shall issue a Festschrift which will include studies on acoustic phonetics,
articulatory phonetics, auditory phonetics, Ga-Dangme, Kwa linguistics, and
the interface between phonetics and other domains of linguistics.

The Festschrift will be international in nature. The Organizing Committee
would be honoured to receive your contribution to the Festschrift honouring
this great African Linguist with papers. We welcome papers from different
linguistics domains and perspectives. Your contribution may be dedicated to
topics in:

Phonetics, Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Semantics, Pragmatics,
Sociolinguistics, Historical and Comparative Linguistics, Second Language
Acquisition, Discourse Analysis, Forensic Linguistics, Language Documentation
and Revitalization, Language Teaching and Learning, Linguistics and
Literature, Language Engineering, and Text/Corpus Linguistics, among others.

Papers shall be no longer than 8,000 words including text, notes, tables,
figures, references as well as an abstract that is no longer than 250 words.
All manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the APA guidelines, and
should be submitted electronically via submissions.akpanglonartey at gmail.com.
The font should be Times New Roman 12 points, one and half space. Kindly note
that the manuscript will go through normal blind peer review procedures. 

Important Dates:

- Abstract submission deadline: January 31, 2019
- Feedback/decision on abstracts date: February 7, 2019
- Paper submission deadline: April 15, 2019
- Feedback on manuscripts date: July 31, 2019
- Revised final manuscript due date: September 30, 2019
- Publication due date: December 31, 2019
