Estimados amigos de las Lenguas Yutoaztecas, 

Con mucho gusto, les informo  el próximo Taller de los Amigos de las Lenguas
Yutoaztecas será en Guadalajara, los días 27, 28 y 29 de junio del presente
año.  En esta ocasión, nos reuniremos también para celebrar la generosa vida y
trayectoria académica de nuestra querida amiga y colega, Karen Dakin. De
manera que, todos están cordialmente invitados,  planeen venir a Guadalajara
esos días para reunirnos con Karen. 

Dear Friends of Uto-Aztecan,  

I am very pleased to inform you that after our wonderful meeting in Boise last
autumn, the Friends of Uto-Aztecan Conference, will be hosted in Guadalajara,
on June 27, 28 and 29. 
This time, we will also get together to honor and celebrate the academic
career of our dear friend and colleague Karen Dakin. So we invite you all to
Guadalajara to come together with Karen and talk about our favorite academic
topic: the Uto-Aztecan linguistic family.


Convocatoria de Propuestas:

Les pedimos envíen un resumen de ponencia de no más de 300 palabras  antes del
27 de abril. Los temas a tratar, serán, como en otras ocasiones, los que
tienen que ver con la familia de las lenguas yutoaztecas, perspectiva
diacrónica y sincrónica, contacto entre lenguas y otros, aunque también
planeamos organizar mesas en donde abordemos las áreas en las que Karen ha
trabajado de manera significativa: fonología histórica, variación dialectal,
traducción de textos históricos, etimologías yutoaztecas, y muchos otros
temas.

Call for Papers:

We ask you to send an abstract of your paper, no longer than 300 words, before
April 27. The topics will be those we have usually talked about in other
Uto-Aztecan meetings: Historical Linguistics of the Uto-Aztecan languages,
linguistic contact, etc. We also plan on organizing sessions that will focus
on those topics Karen has worked on significantly: Phonology, linguistic
variation, translation of historical texts, Uto-Aztecan etymology, and more.
