Description:

Membership Administrator: Part-time (approx. 12-15 hours per month with
additional hours around the Annual Conference in the spring); primarily works
from home, $20.00 per hour. 

The International Linguistic Association seeks an individual to maintain its
membership database and correspondence regarding individual member
subscriptions to ILA's journal, WORD, and send end-of-year invoices for
membership/subscription renewal. For the annual conference, the administrator
collects and organizes abstract submissions, sends them out for blind review,
e-mails acceptance/rejection letters, and collects conference registration
fees.

Other duties: maintains monthly lecture database of attendees; sends e-mail
announcements for 
monthly lectures; sends updated announcements to the Association's Website
manager; and when possible, assist with the annual 3-day conference. 

The ideal candidate will have computer skills, ability with EXCEL, database
management experience, good communication skills, and live in the New York
metropolitan area (preferred though not required). Knowledge of
linguistics/applied linguistics desirable.
