Description:

The Department of Linguistics, University of Maryland, invites applications
for a postdoctoral appointment at the intersection of  Semantics and Language
Acquisition, to start no later than August 20, 2018. The initial 12-month
appointment will be for one year and may be renewed for up to two additional
years, subject to budgetary approval and satisfactory performance. The
successful candidate must hold a PhD (or expect to have successfully defended
prior to the position start date). Salary commensurate with qualifications.

The postdoctoral associate will be expected to participate actively in
research on meaning, especially as it relates to language acquisition.
Computational, psycholinguistic, or developmental expertise are especially
welcome, though prior work in these areas is not a requirement for the
position. 

The postdoctoral associate will also be expected to teach two courses during
the academic year - one at the undergraduate level and one for graduate
students. The postdoctoral associate will also be expected to participate
fully in the research life of the department, attending lab meetings and
colloquia, working with students and developing new ideas. Information about
