Meeting Description:

The University of Padova Language Centre, in collaboration with the Italian
Association of University Language Centres (AICLU), is pleased to announce the
XXIII AICLU seminar, Speaking skills for internationalisation and inclusion:
the role of University Language Centres, to be held on 24-26 May 2018.

The seminar is aimed at language practitioners working in higher education,
involved in the teaching and testing of spoken production and interaction, or
who are carrying out (action) research in the field. The seminar will provide
an opportunity to share best practices and discuss innovations and challenges
in the learning, teaching and testing of oral skills. A further aim of the
seminar is to enhance collaboration across institutions.


Call for Papers:

The seminar organisers look forward to receiving abstracts which address any
of the following themes:

- Innovation and creativity in the learning and teaching of speaking skills
- Syllabus and curriculum design
- The use of the CEFR and ELP in fostering speaking skills
- The use of technology in the learning and teaching speaking skills
- Assessment and self-assessment of spoken production and interaction
- Enhancing speaking skills in EMI/CLIL
- Pronunciation and intonation
- Pragmatics and interaction
- Developing speaking skills outside the classroom
- Speaking in the multicultural classroom
- The use of drama in developing speaking skills
- Enhancing the speaking skills of adult migrants: the role of Language
Centres

Other proposals relevant to the seminar theme may be considered.

Languages of presentation:  English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
Abstracts of max. 300 words (not including references) written in Italian or
English should be submitted to aiclu2018 at clapd.it by Monday 12 March.
Notification of acceptance will be sent by 23 March.
