Meeting Description:

The theme of DLAP-3 will be ‘Working with Communities: Toward reclamation of
linguistic and cultural heritage’. There will be a post-conference field trip
to the Black Tai community in Petchaburi province.

The aim of the conference is to consider the benefits, methodologies, and
challenges of working with communities in attempts to revitalize linguistic
and cultural heritage. In order to build effective and sustainable “Linguistic
and Cultural Heritage Documentation and Revitalization” movements,
collaboration with communities is important, however, so far there has been
limited accumulation of knowledge and tools. We therefore propose a forum for
exchanging our experiences and thoughts about any aspect of working with
communities.


Final Call for Papers:

The deadline for submissions has been extended to 31 March, 2018.

We welcome contributions on the conference theme and also those regarding the
general topic of “Linguistic and Cultural Heritage Documentation and
Revitalization”, particularly in Asian contexts.

- The submission and review of papers for the DLAP-3 Conference will be

Notification of acceptance: 30 April, 2018

Post-Conference Publications:

We are planning to publish collections of papers that will be selected from
the DLAP-3 Conference. The papers will be published in special issues of
Language Ecology (ISSN 2452-1949) and in The Journal of Asian and African
Studies (ISSN: 0387-2807). 

If you are interested in submitting a paper:

1) Please indicate your interest on the submission page for the DLAP-3
conference
2) Submit a paper (maximum length 15 pages) via the submission page

Important Dates:

Deadline for submission of a paper: 30 April, 2018
Notification of preliminary acceptance: 30 June, 2018
Notification of final acceptance: 31 October, 2018
