Meeting Description:

The Department of Filipino and Other Languages of MSU-IIT in consortium with
three Universities namely: the Filipino Department, College of Arts and Social
Sciences of the Xavier University (Cagayan de Oro), the Department of Language
Education, College of Education of Central Mindanao State University
(Bukidnon) and the Department of Humanities, Airlangga University (Indonesia),
will host the 1st SALINDUNONG International Conference on April 2-4, 2018 at
Xavier University, Cagayan de Oro City (Philippines)  with the theme:
Language, Literature, and Multidisciplinary Research Towards Cultural
Integration.

The goal of the conference is to provide a responsive venue for sharing
information and challenges about language and literature in academic setting
and multidisciplinary research towards cultural integration from across Asia
and worldwide.  It seeks to develop confidence in every  teacher as paper
presenter and a  team member of every research project presentation from all
over the Philippines, its neighboring Asean neighbors and other countries.

Consecutivey in its 11th year, the 2018 Conference has aligned with the goal
to accommodate not only the country’s intellectuals but as well as the
international academic community researchers.  Thus, the forthcoming
conference, simply called SALINDUNONG, has the familiar national academic
conference color one used to attend in the last 10 years plus the energetic
world beat of multidisciplinary researches.


Call for Papers:

The Salindunong 1st International Conference and 11th National Conference is
open to all teachers students and practitioners from all over the Philippines
and the world with researches in language, literature and other disciplines
that explore possibilities towards cultural integration. It aims to provide a
responsive venue for sharing information and challenges about language and
literature in academic setting and multidisciplinary research towards cultural
integration from across Asia and worldwide.

Topics (but not limited to the following)

Philosophy of Language
Dialectology
Lexicography
Sociolinguistics
Discourse Analysis
Comparative Literature
Language and Education
Language and Media
Translation Studies
Folk and Literature
Regional and National Literature
Literature, Media and Society
Nation Building and Literature           

Guidelines:

English and Filipino languages are the medium of communication in the
conference. Abstracts and full papers can be written in any of the language
but for the sake of non-Filipino participants, abstracts written in Filipino
should have their English translation.

Abstracts should contain 250-300 words excluding the references. Include 5
keywords and the following information:

- Research Title
- Author(s) Name
- Affiliation(s)
- Email Address(es)

Submit your abstract to salindunong at gmail.com and on the subject line, write
your surname and the first three words of the research title in this format,
surname/firstthreewords (example: matilac/twoindiefilms)

Full papers should be 8-12 pages with 1-inch margin on all sides. Use Times
New Roman 12 point for font style and size. The American Psychological
Association (APA) citation style, both for in-text and list of reference
should be used.

Publication Opportunities:

Abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings and selected papers
will be recommended to the refereed journals of MSU-IIT.
