Description:

Role Purpose:
- To develop and carry out research in conversation analysis and related
fields, assisting the Head of School, Professor Beatrice Szczepek Reed. 
- To participate in joint projects, publications and grant applications.
- To develop and strengthen a personal research profile, contributing to the
research environment and academic life of the School. 

Role Profile:
- Work with the HoS on developing and undertaking conversation analytic
research of high quality with a focus or phonetics and prosody
- Undertake reviews of the literature, data collection and preliminary
analyses
- Work with the HoS on joint analyses, publications and grant applications 
- Develop a personal research profile in a chosen area, including publications
and grant applications
- Present research findings and papers at internal academic meetings and
external professional conferences
- Contribute to the external visibility of the Centre for Language, Discourse
and Communication (LDC) and the School of Education, Communication and Society
(ECS)
- Participate in staff development activities and undertake other tasks, as
appropriate to the postholder’s personal career development
- Contribute to the academic life of LDC and ECS by participating in research
centre and School meetings and seminars
