Description:

The University of Göttingen, Philosophical Faculty, General Linguistics
Department, seeks to fill by April 1st, 2018, the post of a junior researcher,
part time 65% (25,87 hours/week), 13 TV-L. The position will be filled for 3
years.

Job contents:
- research within the project “Yucatec Maya: Variation in Space and Time
(funded by the German Research Foundation; principal investigator: Stavros
Skopeteas; collaboration with the Humboldt University Berlin and the
UNAM/Merida).
- fieldwork on Yucatec Maya in the areas of syntax and prosody;
- presentation and publication of research findings;
- participation in the activities of the General Linguistics Department
(colloquia and publications).
- upon request: 2 hours teaching (in General Linguistics).
- The preparation of a PhD within this position is expected.

We expect: 
- completed MA-degree linguistics or equivalent (required)
- very good oral/written command of English (required)
- very good oral/written command of German (desirable)
- good oral/written command of Spanish (desirable)
- solid background in modern linguistic theory, in particular generative
syntax (desirable).
- experience with publishing (desirable).
