Call For Papers:

Theme: Teaching and Learning Language and Literature at Tertiary Level in the
21st century: Challenges and Proposals

Deadline for full Chapters: 30 May 2018

Teaching and learning Language and Literature at university level has always
been quite challenging. In the traditional system, in the Third World
Countries for instance, the teacher knew almost everything, and had to deliver
it to the learners like a sermon. The Learners only had to swallow the
teachers’ notes without questioning, and to reproduce them to pass. Getting
the reference books that lecturers used was a dream.

The 21st Century has begun with new ways of seeing education, and new ways of
teaching and learning language and literature. Internet and other ICTs
equipments have demystified a number of issues all over the world. At the same
time, while facilitating teaching and learning at tertiary level, they have
made them very challenging. Teachers and learners have access to the same
resources on the internet, and need to update their knowledge almost on a
daily basis.

This publication intends to bring together scholarly works on language and
literature pedagogy at tertiary level in the 21st century. The difficulties
that lecturers and students face and suggestions on how to curb them are given
special consideration. The book will serve as a general reference book for
scholars of language and literature studies in general and a primary reference
source for those whose interests are mainly on the pedagogic aspects of these
disciplines.
