Focus: CreteLing 2018 focuses on Theoretical Linguistics (Syntax, Semantics, Phonology, Morphology, syntax-semantics interface, phonology-syntax interface), Sign Language, language evolution, animal communication and historical linguistics.
Minimum Education Level: Undergraduate


Description:
The Division of Linguistics at the University of Crete announces the 2nd
Summer School in Linguistics. CreteLing2018 will take place from July 16 to
July 27, 2018. There will be introductory courses and advanced seminars on
syntax, phonology, sign language, morphology, semantics, syntax-semantics
interface, phonology-syntax interface, language evolution, animal
communication and historical linguistics. 
There will also be two workshops taking place within CreteLing2018: The
workshop "Linguistic explorations beyond language: music, dance and visual
narrative", on 18/7/2018, organized by Patrick Grosz & Pritty Patel-Grosz
(University of Oslo), and the workshop "Sign language grammars through the
formal and experimental glass", on 25/7/2018, organized by Josep Quer (ICREA -
Universitat Pompeu Fabra).  
The application form is available online via the school’s website

is April,1. Please note that availability in the dorms and for attending is
limited, so please consult our website for more information.
