John Benjamins is pleased to announce that as of Volume 21 (2018) Dorit Ravid
has been appointed as the new General Editor of the journal Written Language &
Literacy. Beatrice Primus (University of Cologne) will become Associate Editor
again, together with former member of the board Terry Joyce (Tama University,
Japan), and newly appointed members Rachel Schiff (Bar-Ilan University) and
Liliana Tolchinsky (University of Barcelona).  Elitzur Dattner (Tel Aviv
University) will join Martin Evertz (University of Cologne) as Assistant
Editor.

Written Language and Literacy will be concerned with linguistic,
psycholinguistic, educational and sociolinguistic accounts of the structure
and functions of written language, the processes and acquisition of reading
and writing, and the use and development of literacy in different social and
cultural settings. The journal focuses on scientific reports in areas such as
theoretical linguistics and cognitive models of written language processes,
reading and writing in educational contexts and in literacy campaigns,
literacy and technology, and literacy as a marker relating to gender,
ethnicity, and class.
