Description:

The Department of Linguistics in the Division of the Humanities invites
applications for a Lecturer in Modern Greek for the 2018-19 academic year,
with possibility of renewal. The successful candidate will have the ability to
teach modern Greek at the university level, and ideally to teach other areas
related to Greece and its culture, history, languages, and people, as well as
in the humanities and humanistic social sciences. The Lecturer will be
responsible for teaching the modern Greek language sequence courses (three
courses in introductory Greek and three courses in Intermediate/Advanced), and
one additional appropriate course as determined by the Chair. Additional
duties may include working with faculty and the Dean to help develop student
and other interest in the program and to address curricular and other
programmatic needs, as well as organizing and promoting events, and developing
and maintaining publicity materials.
