Most important:

Abstract submission - 15 July!

https://voyageandemotionupg.wordpress.com/registration/

Space and feelings – two hidden dimensions and yet so blatantly ubiquitous;
different and yet inextricably intertwined as the self sets sail…

As social beings, we are never alone in this journey. The Other, be it distal
or more proximate, accompanies the Self throughout time and space, sometimes
with certainty, self-reliant, and sometimes reluctant to take the newcomer for
granted. The discovery of alterity and the dialogue they engage into result in
the adjustment of identity, in aggressiveness, and in the need for
legitimization of actions.

Drawing on Piotr Cap’s S(patial)-T(emporal)-A(xiological) proximization
frameworks (2013), Rom Harré’s Positioning Theory (1999, 2010), Paul Chilton’s
Deictic Space Theory (2004), Zoltan Kovecses’ cognitive approach to the
metaphors of emotion (2004), Rachid Amirou’s L’imaginaire touristique (1995),
and Edward T. Hall’s perception of ‘hidden’ space (1982), we invite proposals
for research papers that will uncover the entities and the facets of emotion
that pervade the Self’s proximity.

Call for Papers:

Papers may approach the following topics, but may not be limited to:

- Proximization frameworks
- Discursive construction of social space
- Initiatic journey
- Oneiric journey
- Discovering alterity
- Voyage – an intercultural and interlinguistic exchange
- Positioning theories
- Metaphor matters
- Emotional experiences and their linguistic conceptualization
- Theories of emotion in psychology, philosophy, and anthropology
- The translatability of emotions
- The temporality and spatiality of emotions

Selected papers will be included in two volumes (1. Linguistics/Discourse
Analysis; 2. Literary and Cultural Studies) and published with an
international publishing house.
