The Sixteenth ArgDiaP Conference ''Argumentation and Corpus Linguistics''
Institute of Computer Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences, 15-16 Sept
http://waw2018.argdiap.pl/argdiap-conference/

The study of linguistics has been revolutionised in recent years by the
availability of computerised corpora containing millions of searchable texts
and allowing for the testing of a wide range of theories and hypotheses on the
use of language. With the development of argument mining techniques,
argumentation studies are increasingly ready to take advantage of technology
in similar ways. This event seeks to bring together linguists and
argumentation scholars who are interested in the use of corpora, in order that
they may share knowledge and experiences and examine the ways in which studies
in the two areas may complement each other.

Invited Speakers:
- Chris Reed, Centre for Argument Technology, University of Dundee UK
- Bonnie Webber, Institute for Language, Cognition and Computation, University
of Edinburgh UK

Extended abstract submission deadline: 06 July
Early-bird rate by August 10: 540 PLN (around 125 EUR) TBC
