Description:

The English Department of the University of Freiburg (Germany) invites
applications for two post-doctoral positions in linguistics (full time), to be
filled from 1 October 2018. The appointment is for three years and can be
extended for another three years. One of the positions will be assigned to the
team of Prof. Dr. Bernd Kortmann, the other one to the team of Prof. Dr.
Christian Mair. Both positions involve a teaching load of four weekly contact
hours.

Applicants are expected to hold a PhD degree in (English) linguistics and have
a research and publication record in at least one of the following areas:
English grammar (also from a cross-linguistic or typological perspective),
quantitative or qualitative studies of variation, corpus linguistics,
experimental linguistics. We encourage all applicants to submit a concrete and
specific outline (4 to 6 pages) of a research project in one of these areas.

experience and research project outline, should be submitted by 30 April 2018
