Description:

The Linguistics Program at Washington University in St. Louis is seeking
candidates for a full-time lecturer to begin Fall 2018. The initial
appointment is for one academic year with the possibility of renewal for a
second year. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching 12
credit hours per semester (or an equivalent workload.) Candidates should be
prepared to teach Introduction to Linguistics and basic undergraduate courses
in syntax and semantics. Special consideration will be given to candidates who
are prepared to teach an additional course—such as morphology, phonology, or
computational linguistics—at an introductory undergraduate level.

The Linguistics Program is housed in the Philosophy Department at Washington
University. It has close ties to the Department of Psychological and Brain
Sciences and the Program in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology. Candidates
interested in interacting with faculty in one or more of these departments
(for example, candidates with an interest in philosophy of language,
psycholinguistics, or general cognitive science) are especially encouraged to
apply.

Ph.D. in Linguistics must be completed by start of the appointment. Salary
will be commensurate with education and experience.
