Meeting Description:

International Colloquium for teachers of foreign languages in Higher Education
Institutions. Going beyond the task. Focus on engaging students in the
teaching-learning process in HEIs.


Call for Papers:

APROLÍNGUAS (The Portuguese Association of Foreign Language Teachers in HEIs)
invites all its colleagues, who indeed have questioned the complex issues
raised by the teaching-learning process for foreign languages in their HEIs,
to take part in this international colloquium in Porto, by submitting a paper
proposal (20 minutes’ maximum). The papers may be theoretical and/or case
studies which take into account the flowing key themes: 
 
I – Methodological approaches:

a) Pre-Task-based learning (TBL) approaches
b) Neurolinguistics approaches
c) Approached focussed on affect and emotion
d) Others

II – Classroom management:

a) Interaction patterns (in situ, blended or distance)
b) (new) modes and modalities (experimental) for motivating learners;

III – Identity and intercultural citizenship:

a) Representations of the target language and its associated communities and
their cultures
b) (de)construction of intercultural citizenship
c) Management of affect and emotion within identity 

Languages for presentations at the colloquium
Portuguese, English, French, German and Spanish.

Important dates and deadlines

30 April 2018: deadline for the submission of proposals for papers 
18 May 2018: deadline for notification of acceptance
18 June 2018: deadline for payment of enrolment fee
18 July 2018: publication of the provisional programme

Submission of proposals;

Proposals for papers for a maximum of 20 minutes (abstract of 150 words
maximum, in one of the five languages of the colloquium, in WORD format)
accompanied by a brief bio-note (maximum 60 words) sent to
aprolinguas at gmail.com  
          
Enrolment

Enrolment in the colloquium includes participating in the event, all
documentation, coffee breaks and a certificate of participation

- Cost of enrolment: €50,00 for members of APROLÍNGUAS e €70,00 for other
participants.
 This amount should be transferred following notification of acceptance of the
proposal to the bank account indicated at
https://sites.google.com/view/aprolinguas2018/p%C3%A1gina-inicial?authuser=0 .

- Confirmation of payment should be sent to  aprolinguas at gmail.com 

Further information with respect to meals, hotels and the subsequent
publication of an e-book will be provided at a later date on the conference
website.
