Meeting Description:

The International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM), through the
Department of English Language and Literature (DELL) and the Department of
Sociology and Anthropology (SOCA), is hosting a two-day conference to provide
scholars and educators with a platform to present and discuss issues which
concern language and culture in Asia beyond. This is the first time the two
departments are coming together to co-host an event that will provide an
opportunity for scholars from areas as diverse as anthropology, cultural
studies, education, linguistics, literature and sociology to work towards a
better understanding of language and culture in the region through their own
research traditions and epistemologies as well interdisciplinary alliances
with one another. The conference is also a platform for participants and
invited guests to showcase their creative work to an audience through artistic
performances which are scheduled at the end of each conference day.


Call for Papers:

International Conference on Language, Culture & Society 2018 (ICLCS)
International Institute of Islamic Civilisation and Malay World (ISTAC), Taman
Duta, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

The International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM), through the
Department of English Language and Literature (DELL) and the Department of
Sociology and Anthropology (SOCA), is hosting a two-day conference to provide
scholars and educators with a platform to present and discuss issues which
concern language and culture in Asia and beyond. Themes include but not
limited to linguistics, literature, sociology, and anthropology.  

Publication Opportunity:

Selected papers presented at ICLCS will be published in Scopus-indexed
journals: Asiatic or Intellectual Discourse. Selection of articles will be
based on a number of factors including, among other things, quality of
research, originality, and style. Selected papers may be required to undergo
further review and editing before actual publication.

Important Dates:

- Abstract Deadline: 31 May 2018
- Abstract Acceptance Notification: 15 June 2018
- Full Paper Deadline: 17 August 2018

Abstract Submission:

The abstract should not exceed 300 words and should contain the following
details:

- Title
- Author’s information
- Affiliation and email address
- Problem statement and objectives
- Research methods
- Significance
- Expected findings
- Keywords (not exceeding five terms)
