Meeting Description:

With the rapid development of digital technology and the rising trend of
globalization, how to use technology to facilitate language learning and
social interactions has drawn the attention of many researchers and industries
in the field of e-learning. Topics including machine translation (e.g. Google
Translate), natural language processing (e.g. Apple’s Siri), robots which
communicate with humans, mobile-assisted language learning, immersive AR / VR
for language learning, game-based language learning, big data, linguistics,
etc. have drawn much of the world’s attention in recent years. This conference
offers a platform for international cooperation and sharing knowledge across
fields. With the sharing of innovative, interdisciplinary and various topics,
keynote speeches in particular fields, knowledge exchange between local and
domestic and international researchers, this conference aims to maximize the
potential of the TELL group of researchers.
 
The 1st Pan-Pacific Technology-Enhanced Language Learning(PPTELL2018)
conference will be hosted by National Taiwan Normal University. PPTELL2018
will focus on the following six topics. Through interactions with the experts
in particular fields, this conference promotes not only the interdisciplinary
and international cooperation between universities and industries but also the
development of thriving industries in TELL.

Call For Papers:

We invite paper submissions reporting original academic theories or practical
work in the area of Advanced Learning Technologies and Technology-enhanced
Learning.

The paper should include:

(1) Title of research paper
(2) Abstract
(3) Main body of paper
 
Authors will receive feedback of the submitted paper by 30 of June, 2018. Full
papers should be submitted at the conference website: Upload full-paper. Ahead
of submission of your respective full papers, please carefully read over the
conference template (PDF version/ MsWord version). The anticipated types of
submissions for all tracks are:

Long paper: 5 pages
Short paper: 3 pages
Posters: 2 pages

Papers submitted must not have been published previously or under
consideration for publication. All papers will be double-blind peer-reviewed.
The acceptance process will focus on those papers that make original
scientific contributions in the form of theoretical and experimental research.

Authors of the best papers, selected from all the tracks by the Program
Chairs, are sincerely invited to submit extended versions of their conference
papers to the following publication: (i) a special issue in CALL Journal
(SSCI), (ii) Journal of Chinese Language Teaching (TSSCI & THCI Core) and
(iii) Book chapters in Virtual and augmented reality for enhancing Chinese
learning edited by Yu-Ju Lan (Springer Publishing).
