The University of Verona has currently opened Ph.D. positions in the
humanities, including 3 positions for Linguistics, within the Ph.D. program in
Foreign Literatures, Languages and Linguistics.

Selected Ph.D. candidates will receive a 3-year fellowship. Since teaching in
the Linguistics curriculum will be held entirely in English and no previous
knowledge of Italian is required, we encourage applications from international
students.

Information about candidacy can be found on the application website, please
see the application link below.

Applications can be uploaded starting May 18th, 2018. The deadline for online
applications is June 18th, 2018. Only online applications through the
university application system are accepted (please do not send applications
via e-mail).

The selection procedure for the track in Linguistics involves evaluation of
the candidates' CV, their research project as well as an interview (on request
via skype). For details see the application website. On this site, you can
find information about the application procedures in the subsection regarding
the Ph.D. programme in Foreign Literatures, Languages and Linguistics

One of the three fellowships is part of a cooperation agreement with UiT The
Arctic University of Norway, Tromsø. Candidates selected for this fellowship
will spend 1 year at the partner university in Tromsø and will be awarded a
degree from both partner universities. (for a summary of the agreement see
