Meeting Description:

The Judith Woodsworth Lecture, a young researchers keynote lecture, was
created in 2017. 

The conference will take place under the aegis of the Congress of the
Humanities and Social Sciences Federation of Canada. The Canadian Association
for Translation Studies is seeking proposals that meet the criteria below. A
student will be chosen by a jury to give a 40-minute paper, followed by a
20-minute question period, at a plenary session during the CATS Annual
Conference. A $500 grant will be given to the speaker towards the cost of
attending the conference. The jury will be composed of Christine York,
president of CATS, Philippe Caignon, past president of CATS, and Chantal
Gagnon, chair of the program committee.


Call for Papers:

Details:

- Eligibility: Students enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program at a
Canadian university whose research is related to translation studies, or
students enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program in an international
university whose research is related to translation studies in Canada.
= Language: English or French
= Date: The paper will be given during the CATS Conference, June 2-4, 2019
= Place: Congress 2019 at University of British Columbia

To submit a proposal, please send the following documents to the members of
the jury at the following address: info at act-cats.ca

- Last name, first name, contact information, e-mail address, name of your
university and program
- Curriculum Vitae
- A 500-word abstract, followed by 3 to 5 bibliographic references
- A 100- to 150-word text indicating the status of your research (at present
and expected at the time of the Conference)

Note that if you have already submitted a proposal related to the theme of the
Conference, or if you intend to submit one for the open sessions, you may
nonetheless submit a proposal to the Judith Woodsworth Lecture.
