Job Title: HERE Russian Language Annotator
Job Rank: Annotator; Researcher

Specialty Areas: Translation; Russian Langauge Annotator

Required Language(s): Russian (rus)

Description:

HERE Russian Language Annotator

Summary of the Position:
Annotation is how we at HERE measures the success of our HERE mapping
software. When changes are made to HERE Maps, annotation informs us if those
changes are better or worse for our map users. As an annotator, you will help
to:
- Determine the possible intent of map user-entered map searches,
- Determine the value of a geographical point-of-interest (POI) being returned
as a map listing, and
- Confirm information about POIs using web-based research.

The HERE Russian Language Annotator position requires detailed web research
skills. The position utilizes on-line resources like official websites, review
sites, web searches, mapping street view, etc as part of the HERE Annotation
Team. The HERE Russian Language Annotator in particular will require reading
and writing literacy in Russian for language specific annotation work.

Main Responsibilities:
- Rate the quality of HERE maps generated point-of-interests from user-entered
map searches. The Annotator must be able to clearly explain their thought
process leading to their annotation rating.
- Perform online research to determine and list the most likely intent of the
user-entered map searches.
- Perform data quality checks on the various associated attributes of POIs in
our mapping database.

Work Environment:
All annotation work is done remotely through an online annotation website. All
data is displayed through specific task templates on the annotation website.
All Annotators follow task-specific annotation guidelines and you will receive
annotation training when you start the position. Your normal work will be
reviewed by higher-level annotators known as mergers and there will be more
in-depth assessments every quarter. Within that structure, annotation workers
must be creative and open-thinkers.

Scope:
An Annotator is an Individual contributor. Annotators work independently and
remotely. Some workers, after high-performance assessments, are trained as
mergers who perform higher level work. This includes reviewing other
annotator’s work, providing final ratings, and providing feedback to other
annotators as necessary. This long-term position is expected to take 20 hours
each week with flexible work hours as determined by the annotator.

Impact Decision Making:
Workers make decisions based on the utility provided by the HERE map search
responses, or the correctness of the attributes associated with a POI.
Collectively, this data allows the HERE Team to make informed changes to the
HERE mapping software and determine database quality. Without annotation, we
cannot measure the quality impact of HERE maps software development.

Position Requirements:
- High school diploma.
- Proficiency with a variety of web resources and with computer usage.
- Reading and writing literacy in Russian is required.
- Language proficiency in more than one language, particularly Japanese,
Chinese, and Arabic, is desirable, but is not a requirement.
- You must have access to a laptop, internet, and be able to work 20 hours a
week.
- This position is only available to those able to work in the United States
of America.

Physical Demands:
N/A
