Meeting Description:

The Cyprus Undergraduate Linguistics Conference promotes undergraduate
research and facilitates communication and discussion between researchers at
all levels of undergraduate research throughout the linguistic community. The
2nd International Cyprus Undergraduate Linguistics Conference (I-CULC 2019)
will take place at the University of Cyprus on Saturday, February 16 to Sunday
February 17, 2019 (Saturday may not include presentations, but we will have a
welcome session, registration, and an evening social event.)  

This year’s theme is ‘Theoretical and Experimental Approaches to Language’.

The 2nd International Cyprus Undergraduate Linguistics Conference (I-CULC)
will follow the Trans-Disciplinary Approaches to Language Variation workshop (
https://linguistlist.org/issues/29/29-4605.html ), which will take place from
Friday, February 15 to Saturday, February 16, 2019.

2nd Call for Papers:

Students are invited to submit abstracts that relate to experimental and/or
theoretical approaches to the study of Language. All subfields of linguistics
are encouraged, including syntax, morphology, semantics, phonology,
sociolinguistics, language acquisition, language pedagogy and related
disciplines. Applicants must be undergraduate students or recent graduates of
a BA/BSc programme, with a paper relating to a topic in one of these fields.
The accepted applicants will be invited for a 20-minute presentation plus 10
minutes of discussion or for participating in a poster session (please
indicate if you prefer a presentation or a poster when submitting your
abstract).
Anonymous abstract submissions are expected to be a minimum of 400 words,
should not exceed two pages including data, charts and references, and include
a title. They must be submitted in .pdf format at: culc at ucy.ac.cy by November
30, 2018.

Author(s) name and affiliation, as well as preference about presentation or
poster, must be stated in the body of the email. Each author may submit up to
two abstracts, provided that at least one of the two is co-authored.

All abstracts will be reviewed anonymously on the basis of the following
criteria: originality of research, clarity of structure and language, as well
as strength of argumentation.
