Description:

The Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics, Faculty of Liberal
Arts & Professional Studies, York University invites applications for a
teaching-stream (alternate stream) tenure-track position in Korean at the rank
of Assistant Lecturer, to commence July 1, 2019. The successful candidate will
be expected to teach and develop undergraduate courses.

A PhD in a field related to teaching Korean language and culture is required.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching
university-level courses and have a strong commitment to pedagogy and student
success. Pedagogical innovation in high priority areas such as experiential
education, technology enhanced learning, and community-based learning is
preferred as is experience with curriculum development including designing and
implementing blended and fully online courses. Experience working with the
Korean community is an asset. The successful candidate is also expected to
provide evidence of service or potential to contribute to service in
administrative and committee work. Native or near-native fluency in Korean and
English is required.
