Description:

The Department of Linguistics at McGill University invites applications for a
tenure-track position in syntactic theory at the rank of Assistant Professor,
effective August 1, 2019. The Department welcomes applications from candidates
whose research agenda complements the existing strengths of the Department,
including candidates whose work draws on data obtained through fieldwork, or
through experimental, quantitative, or computational methods. 

The successful candidate that satisfies the eligibility conditions of the
Canada Research Chair (CRC) program may be supported by the University for
nomination to a Tier 2 Chair in Theoretical Syntax, which provides protected
time for research within a full-time academic appointment.

Job Duties:
Duties will include research, undergraduate and graduate teaching, graduate
research guidance and administrative responsibilities. 

Qualifications and Education requirements:
A PhD in linguistics or a related discipline and demonstrated excellence in
research and teaching in the area(s) of specialization.
  
Candidates who do not satisfy the CRC eligibility criteria for a Tier 2 Chair
are nonetheless invited to apply for the position.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

the rank of Assistant Professor who are within three years of their PhD, one
