>From code switching to translanguaging

31st International Conference on Foreign/Second Language Acquisition will
focus on the issues of code-switching and translanguaging in multiple language
contact situations from immersion to formal instruction environments. We will
also accept presentations on multilingualism and bilingualism in general.
Traditionally, we will organize a poster session for doctoral candidates and
an editorial workshop for young scholars.


Call for Papers:

The Institute of English at the University of Silesia is pleased to announce
the 31st International Conference on Foreign and Second Language Acquisition
(ICFSLA). Traditionally, this conference focuses on research in second
language acquisition and foreign language learning, concentrating as it does
each year on different aspects of the research in this field. 

The leading theme and the programme:

The main topic of the 2019 conference is: From code-switching to
translanguaging. 

Plenary Speakers:

- Prof. Adrian Blackledge (University of  Stirling)
- Prof. Angela Creese (University of  Stirling)
- Prof. David Lasagabaster (University of  the Basque Country)
- Prof. Simone Pfeninnger (University of Salzburg)
- Prof. David Singleton (University of Pannonia, Vészprem/Trinity College,
Dublin)
- Prof. Eva Vetter (University of Vienna)

Place and dates:

The event will continue to be held in Szczyrk, a well-known (to many of you)
resort town in the Beskidy Mountains of Southern Poland and its dates are: 16
to 18 May 2019.

Important dates:

Paper abstracts should be sent before the 31 January 2019 to our e-mail
address: szczyrkconference2019 at gmail.com

You will be notified about acceptance by 20 February.

Registration:

The registration form, including the paper abstract, should be sent as an
attachment to an e-mail. Additionally, to facilitate the procedure of building
the conference database, all participants are kindly asked to type their entry
details into an Excel document (baza2017.xls), filling in all the columns in
the second row below the blue headings, and send it back as a separate
attachment, changing its name to SurnameName.xls (in Excel 2003 or later
format). Both documents necessary for registration can be downloaded from our
webpage at www.icfsla.us.edu.pl
