Description:

The Linguistics section of the Department of English at the
Georg-August-Universitaet Goettingen is looking to fill the position of a
Research Assistant (lecturer/post doc) with regular working hours (currently
39.8 hours per week) and a limited contract of 4 years. This position should
be filled by April 1, 2019. Salary: Pay grade 13 TV-L. 

Your duties 
- You will teach courses as defined in Section 31 of the Higher Education Act
of Lower Saxony (NHG) and administer examinations 
- Work on the research area of “theoretical syntax/semantics”

Your profile
- You hold a highly qualified PhD in “formal linguistics” (the writing of the
PhD thesis must have been finished when starting the position),
- Have a research focus on theoretical syntax and formal semantics/pragmatics,
- Have teaching experience and publishing results. 

This post is designed to serve in fostering young researchers and scientists
and give the successful applicant the opportunity to pursue a post-doctoral
degree. The position is also suitable for half-time work.
