Meeting Description: 

The biannual International Conference on Role and Reference Grammar (RRG) will
take place on August 19-21, 2019, in Buffalo, New York. The conference is
jointly sponsored by UB Linguistics and Cooperative Research Center 991 at the
Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, Germany. We are pleased to host
plenary lectures by Profs. Jürgen Bohnemeyer (University at Buffalo), Daniel
Everett (Bentley University), and Wataru Nakamura (Tohoku University). It will
be held in downtown Buffalo at the University at Buffalo's Educational
Opportunity Center, conveniently located near the downtown theater district,
local restaurants, and the Buffalo waterfront.

The 2019 Conference will deal with all aspects of functional linguistics.
Papers dealing with further elaboration of RRG in areas such as morphology,
syntax, semantics, information structure, as well as language processing and
language change are encouraged.

The Conference will have oral presentations and a poster session. Each oral
presentation will last twenty minutes, followed by another ten minutes for
discussion. Abstracts as PDF documents must be submitted by March 15, 2019,
through Easy Abstracts (EasyAbs) at http://linguistlist.org/easyabs/rrg2019.
Submissions will be considered for presentation as a talk or as a poster; if
an abstract is intended for a poster presentation only, that should be
indicated. Abstracts must be anonymous and should be no longer than two pages,
including data and references. Submissions are limited to one single-authored
and one-co-authored abstract or two co-authored abstracts. Notification of
acceptance will be given no later than May 1, 2019.
