Meeting Description:

This is the fifth international Workshop on Sino-Tibetan Languages of
southwest China organized under the auspices of the Department of Chinese,
Nankai University. The previous installments of this workshop tradition were
held at Academia Sinica, Taipei in 2008, Peking University, Beijing in 2010,
Centre National de la Research Scientifique (CNRS), Paris in 2013, and
University of Washington, Seattle in 2016. In the vein of these previous
events, and also as southwest China is home to a good number of
little-explored Sino-Tibetan languages some of which are on the edge of
extinction, this STLT-2019 will continue to seek the advancement of the study
of non-Sinitic Sino-Tibetan languages of southwest China through international
cooperation.

STLS-2019 will be held on August 21-23, 2019 at Nankai University, Tianjin,
China. Abstracts are invited for presentations on any aspect of linguistic
research on any variety of the non-Sinitic Sino-Tibetan languages of southwest
China. Applicants are welcome to submit up to one single-authored and one
co-authored abstracts.
