Job Location: Pathumthani, Thailand
Web Address: http://litu.tu.ac.th/
Job Title: English Language Instructor
Job Rank: Lecturer

Specialty Areas: Applied Linguistics; Not Applicable; English Language Teaching

Required Language(s): English (eng)

Description:

Thammasat University is considered one of the top two government universities
in Thailand. As part of this university, we, the Language Institute, are now
looking for an English language instructor.

The job rank is international staff faculty member/lecturer. The initial
one-year contract starts in January 2019. This is a full-time position. A
candidate MUST be an English native speaker. Those with some experience in
English teaching at tertiary level or those holding a master's degree in
English language teaching are usually preferred.

An instructor usually teaches foundation English courses (to Year 1
undergraduate students) and ESP (English for Special Purposes) courses to
Years 2-4 undergraduate students. We do not teach English majors who are under
the English Department. In other words, the Language Institute teaches English
courses in almost all faculties (departments) at Thammasat except English
majors. In addition to your teaching responsibilities, you will also be
required to do such things as working with a team that make audio clips for
English listening lessons and tests, editing and correcting the lessons and
exams of Thai instructors, proctoring exams, submitting grades and the usual
duties of a university instructor. In effect, that means you should be around
most of the time during weekdays.
