Full Title: Language Testing

Linguistic Field(s): Applied Linguistics

Call Deadline: 02-Dec-2018

The measurement and tracking of learning gains over time using standardized
assessment data will play an ever more important role as new technology makes
repeat test taking increasingly common. This area requires more attention if
we are to better understand sources of score variability as well as learners'
development of language skills over time.
The aim of this special issue is to bring together and highlight emerging
research in this area. We particularly welcome papers reporting empirical work
that uses evidence from repeat test taking to shed light on learning
processes, or the use of repeated test taking to promote learning.

Possible topic areas include:
- The use of repeat test taking within teaching and learning systems
- Relating different treatments or individual learner differences to
differential learning trajectories
- Innovative approaches to analysing repeat test taker data
Submission instructions:
Please submit a proposal of no more than 500 words to tony.green at beds.ac.uk.
Authors will be notified once the proposal is processed.
Any enquiries regarding the special issue can be sent to tony.green at beds.ac.uk

The proposal should include:
- Title of the article
- Author name(s), affiliation(s), and contact information
- A summary of the article, highlighting novel features
- An explanation of the article's contribution

We hope that all submitting authors will commit to the public sharing of the
data used in their research.

Successful authors will be invited to submit full papers for peer review,
following normal procedures.

The following timeline is anticipated:
Proposal submission deadline 2 December 2018
Full manuscript submission deadline: 28 February 2019
Review process complete 31 August 2019
Anticipated publication date: Issue 3 (July) 2020
