Description:

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Colorado Boulder invites
applications for the position of tenure-track Assistant Professor in
Linguistics, appointment beginning August 2019. 

We seek candidates specializing in morphology and typology. Potential areas of
focus include language change, language contact, language reconstruction,
language documentation, linguistic prehistory, and language processing and
acquisition. The ideal candidate will have a research orientation that aligns
with the Department's emphasis on cognitive-functional and usage-based
explanation, its commitment to data-intensive and quantitative research
methods, and its record of interdisciplinary training and scholarship. A
competitive applicant will show evidence of innovative research and a strong
potential to contribute to the Department’s teaching mission.

Responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate teaching, research and
service. Standard teaching load is 3.5 courses per year.

2019; otherwise, the hire will be at the Instructor level.
