field. More than 50 full-time continuing academic staff focus on developing
contemporary, interdisciplinary programs, with a strong emphasis on industry
placements, to prepare students for a changing world.

This is a full time, continuing position based at the Gold Coast campus. The
ideal starting date for this position is February, 2019.

The opportunity:
The School is seeking an early-career Linguistics scholar who is committed to
contributing to the development of undergraduate teaching in Linguistics (in
the Bachelor of Languages and Linguistics and in the Bachelor of Arts), as
well as in a suite of postgraduate options. As Lecturer, you will undertake
research, supervise honours and HDR students, and undertake service duties as
assigned by the Head of School. The position commences with a reduced teaching
load in the first year of appointment, in order to facilitate the appointee’s
transition into the role.

About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have a PhD in Linguistics and a
compelling research programme in your area of expertise and the ability to
contribute to generalist and relevant specialist areas of Linguistics learning
and teaching. You will be able to collaborate in cross-disciplinary research
and effectively contribute to the positive culture and aspirations of the
School.

Salary range:
Lecturer, Level B: $92,511 - $109,860 per annum. Salary package including 17%
employer superannuation contribution: $108,239 - $128,537 per annum.
