Celebrating its 5th anniversary and moving to a triannual frequency of

announce that Vol. 5, Issue 2, to appear in July 2019, will be dedicated to a
thematic special issue. For instructions for authors and view the latest issue

''ELF, Migration and English Language Education: Sociolinguistic and
Pedagogical Issues''

Guest Editors:
Éva Illés (Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary)
Yasemin Bayyurt (Boğaziçi University, Istanbul, Turkey)

Scope of the Special Issue:
The aim of this special issue is to bring together papers that address
different issues related to the effects of migration on ELF-awareness in the
wider society and its impact on English language classrooms in various
contexts across the world. In this vein, migrants ranging from highly skilled
to low-skilled, students from migrant families in mainstream education, study
abroad students (e.g. Erasmus students), and teachers who themselves have
migrant background will be the focus of attention. In addition, the papers in
this issue will present immigrants' perspectives and experience with regard to
multilingualism/multiculturalism in rapidly growing immigrant societies and
their integration into the local educational contexts where they settle. Last
but not least, the papers will discuss the place of English and ELF-awareness
in immigrants' everyday educational practices.

The papers will explore the impact of immigration on issues such as
intercultural communication, language choice, identity construction as well as
pedagogy, teacher education, materials evaluation in relation to ELF and
ELF-awareness in educational contexts.
