Description:

The Institute of Linguistics at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities,
invites applicants for a Contract Assistant Professor (non-tenure track)
position in Linguistics with a specialization in phonology for the 2019-2020
academic year.

This is a one academic year appointment beginning August 26, 2019 and
concluding May 24, 2020. The teaching load for this position is 5 courses over
two semesters. The successful candidate will teach three phonology courses and
two additional courses in the Linguistics undergraduate or graduate program.
In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to mentor
and advise students at all levels of the program.

Qualified applicants must have a Ph.D in Linguistics by time of appointment.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in phonology, a
demonstrated excellence in research and teaching, and a commitment to
undergraduate and graduate teaching and advising. 

Salary is competitive and will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and
experience. Candidates will be evaluated according to the overall quality of
academic preparation and professional experience, evidence of commitment to
teaching and skills as a teacher, and the strength of recommendations.
