Meeting Description:

Anne Vainikka’s main areas of work are  Finnish syntax, first and second
language acquisition. Her last project was on the syntax of Uralic languages.
The conference, therefore, includes work on Finnish and other Uralic languages
but more widely also morphology, syntax, semantics, discourse structure,
primary and second language acquisition and any theoretical or formal aspects
of the structure of natural language.


Call for papers:

The Research Institute for Linguistics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences
and Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church, Budapest welcome
contributions to the Conference titled ‘In Memoriam of Dr. Anne Vainikka,’
which will take place on November 22-23, 2019.

Anne Vainikka’s main areas of work are Finnish syntax, first and second
language acquisition. Her last project was on the syntax of Uralic languages.

Abstracts are invited for 20-minute talks and posters. Abstracts are kindly
asked to be submitted via the Easychair link:

Abstracts are not to exceed two pages with standard (1”/2.5 cm) margins on all
sides, set in a font no smaller than 11 points. Additional pages with data and
references are welcome. Submission is limited to one individual and one joint
abstract per author, or two joint abstracts per author. The number of posters
is not limited.

Those colleagues who would like to contribute to commemorating Anne Vainikka
but cannot attend due to distance can be given a slot for a short online
presentation.
