Description:

The Department of Linguistics at the University of California, Berkeley, is
seeking a one-semester appointment for one, part-time (37%) lecturer in Spring
semester 2020. Duties include teaching one undergraduate course - Ling 100,
“Introduction to Linguistic Science,” holding regular office hours,
calculating grades, advising students, preparing course materials & exams,
managing GSIs, and attending appropriate meetings/orientations, etc.

Salary will be based on the University's annual pay scale for lecturers,
between $56,881–$63,788, commensurate with past college-level teaching
experience.

Basic Qualifications (by time of application):
Advanced degree or enrolled in an advanced degree program at time of
application.

Additional Qualifications (by start date):
Advanced degree by start date.

Preferred Qualifications:
PhD (or equivalent international degree) in Linguistics and demonstrated
excellence in teaching courses at the college level.

employment) is required by the start date of the position. The department is
unable to provide a visa/work permit for this position.
