Short Title: II SINCAR

Date: 23-Mar-2020 - 25-Mar-2020
Location: Campinas, Brazil
Contact Person: Aquiles Tescari Neto
Meeting Email: sincarunicamp at gmail.com

Linguistic Field(s): Syntax

Call Deadline: 20-Dec-2019

Meeting Description:

The ''cartographic'' version of the Principles and Parameters Theory of
Generative Grammar has its ''formal'' beginning with works by Guglielmo
Cinque, Luigi Rizzi and many other collaborators. Investigations on
Cartography in Brazil started with Mioto (2001), whose paper dealt with the CP
system in Brazilian Portuguese.

Today the Syntactic Cartography is spread across the five regions of the
country and increasingly arouses the interest of young researchers. Due to
this growing interest, a group of researchers organized a first national
conference on Cartography, held in August 2017 at UFRJ. Given the success of
that first edition, we are organizing a second edition of the event, to be
held from 23rd to 25th March at IEL/UNICAMP.

Invited Speakers:

Aniela Improta França (UFRJ)
Carlos Felipe da Conceição Pinto (UFBA)
Sandra Quarezemin (UFSC)
Simone Guesser (UFRR)

Call for Papers:

The Center for Formal Grammar, Language Change and Acquisition Studies (ForMA)
is pleased to invite abstract submissions - in oral and/or poster mode - for
the second edition of SINCAR - ''Cartographic Syntax Meeting: Theory and
Experimentation'' to be held at the Institute of Language Studies, University
of Campinas (UNICAMP), March 23-25, 2020.

* Papers may be submitted in Portuguese, English or Spanish.

Submission Instructions:

Abstracts should not exceed two A4 pages (including data, figures and
references) with 2.5cm margins on all sides in Times New Roman, size 12.

author or two co-authored works by the same author.

The abstract should be sent to the e-mail (sincarunicamp at gmail.com) in PDF
format, indicating, in the body of the message, the name of the author(s),
title and academic institution(s).
