Meeting Description:

The Chair of Latvian and General Linguistics and the Chair of Baltic
Linguistics of the University of Latvia’s Faculty of Humanities, The
Department of Latvian and Baltic Studies invite submissions of abstracts for
the 56th International Academic Conference in honour of Professor Arturs Ozols
“Grammar and language acquisition” to be held on March 19–20, 2020.

The conference will focus on the principles of grammatical description and
interpretation of grammatical concepts in first-language (incl. dialects and
subdialects) and second-language acquisition from both a synchronic and a
diachronic perspective.

We welcome presentations addressing various grammatical phenomena found in
Latvian and also in other languages from a general, areal, typological,
cognitive, functional, and contrastive point of view.


Call for Papers:

Presentations – 20 minutes (15 minutes for speaking and 5 minutes for
answering questions).

Participation fee – 30 EUR (to cover coffee break costs).

Please send registration forms (indicating your name, surname and academic
affiliation) and abstracts (250–500 words) to kalnaca at latnet.lv by January 20,
2020. Notification of acceptance will be given by February 3, 2020.
