Description:

The Department of Linguistics & Philosophy at MIT invites applications for a
one-year junior visiting position in syntax/semantics for academic year
2019-2020. We are particularly interested in candidates whose expertise and
research spans both syntax and semantics and the links between these areas.
Duties will include teaching or co-teaching three courses (one of which may be
an advanced seminar in the applicant's area of research), advising student
research, and active participation in the intellectual life of the department.

Consideration of applications will begin on February 25, 2019. To ensure full
consideration, applications should be complete and letters of recommendation
received by this date, but we will consider all applications submitted until
the position is filled.

The following supporting documents are required:

- Curriculum vitae;
- Statement of research interests;
- Statement concerning teaching interests, experience, and philosophy;
- Samples of research;
- Teaching evaluations (if available);
- The names and contact information of three referees.
